Our experience at Trilok has been overwhelmingly positive. Conveniently located in the neighborhood with multiple outdoor play areas (including a garden the children help to tend), we really could not find the equivalent anywhere else. The teachers are communicative and loving and really bond with the kids. We’ve seen amazing growth in our son who loves everyone on staff. However, the jewel of Trilok is the community one adopts. We have developed a rich and diverse network of classmates and families that we enjoy spending time with after school and on weekends. Returning in the Fall was a no- brainer for us.
We love Trilok! We get our every cue from our son who has been there from the very beginning. He has been protected whilst still able to develop and thrive through the pandemic due to the wonderful in house amenities that come with the school, and the collective community that helps Trilok thrive. Fall will be our third year with the school. We keep coming back because our son loves the teachers, his friends and the environment. The community of parents and other children who come from similar morals and principalities make it a smooth easy and safe community for our son to be a part of. One that leads with love, acceptance, champions’ empathy, confidence and compassion. What can we say, we think Trilok is a fantastic school.

I feel extremely grateful for our son to have begun his education at Trilok. The teachers and staff encouraged him to be himself and taught him invaluable lessons about learning and playing at the same time. I am especially grateful that he was so welcomed in an educational setting that prides itself on meeting a child where they are and encourages them to be kind and supportive of their classmates. I hope that he will continue to associate learning with the kind of collaborative, thoughtful and fun approach that he found at Trilok.

We began our journey with Trilok 3+ years ago and immediately fell in love with the teachers leading the 2’s program. They made our child feel supported and gave him confidence in his early development + learning (including potty training!). Trilok was a life-saver during that first pandemic year. It’s been amazing seeing our child grow and flourish there and he’s always excited to come back each year for summer camp!

Trilok is a remarkable institution, where our daughter has forged deep relationships with both students and teachers alike. She was never in daycare, and we were concerned about how she would take to starting school, but she felt immediately safe, heard, and embraced by the wonderful staff at Trilok. She can’t wait to go back every morning, and is so excited to start her second year there. The small class sizes and individualized care, the daily summary full of images and descriptions from the day, the curriculum paced to each student’s unique abilities and needs, the dance and yoga rooms, rooftop playground, garden and greenhouse, turtle tanks and chicken coops, all combine to make Trilok such an adventure of learning and growth for our daughter. And even in the face of the pandemic, Trilok has hosted thoughtful and safe outdoor activities that cross-cultures, from a Halloween party to a Holi celebration, to a recent set of school performances inspired by African dance traditions. This programming brings students into each other’s cultures, and creates a common soil for learning and appreciation. We love being part of the Trilok family, and we’d recommend this school to any parent.

Trilok School provided exactly the safe, warm, and nurturing environment our son needs! The Trilok teachers and staff engage the kids and develop them in a very individualized way. The exploratory learning the children do fosters their curiosity and independence, and the school’s focus on social-emotional learning and growth is beyond valuable. We’re very thankful to Ms. Evelyn and Ms. Marta and the whole team at Trilok.
Trilok school has been such a great experience for our 4 year old and us, as parents. Our son was enrolled during the school year and is now a regular summer camp attendee.
The small classes and kind staff have really promoted a village-like atmosphere at the school, and for our son. Although he can be shy in groups of new people, he always quickly makes friends at Trilok. Additionally, he loves his teachers and, as a parent, I feel as if they love him – which is important. Teachers provide feedback and photos, so we know what the structured art/language development/playtime consists of daily. As a bonus, our boy is very active, and I can say with certainty that the small class environment helped to improve his focus.
As a parent who has had my son in three different programs/schools in Brooklyn, and considered many more, I find Trilok to be the best in the business. I’m very grateful for the service they provide for our community.

We have been at Trilok School for the past 3 years. All of our children have attended this school. One of the best things about this school is the caring staff who go above and beyond and treat your children as their own. The small class sizes makes individualized learning plans possible so your child can learn at their own pace. The school teaches global citizenship, mindfulness and develops their awareness of the environment around them. They even have a beautiful community garden that the children help to care for and they are able to partake in the “fruits” of their labor. We enrolled our daughter at Trilok last year not really knowing what to expect. We had seen positive reviews, and spoken with neighbors whose children had attended, but being new parents we were nervous and a little freaked out tosend our 2-year old out into the big scary world. Would she make friends? Behave? Develop emotionally and intellectually?
It’s now a year later, and as we prepare to move away from Brooklyn probably the single hardest thing is separating Olive from the life she’s grown into at Trilok. She loves her friends and teachers, she’s fully potty trained, and she absolutely loves to learn and sing and dance, all things she either learned or had reinforced during her year as a Tangerine at Trilok. We unreservedly and enthusiastically recommend the fantastic folks at Trilok! I know we will miss them.

We were lucky enough to join the Trilok community a few years ago and have attended both school and camp. The teachers and support staff took the time to get to know our son’s interests and he is clearly a better citizen of the world because of the work they have done. He still talks about his time in spring break camp as the most fun he’s ever had, and consistently reminds us that his banana peels are compostable.

We love Trilok – it’s been amazing for our son. The caring, nurturing environment is like no other we have experienced in Brooklyn. It’s a special place. The teachers and staff are so present and warm, and meet thechild where they are. Smaller class sizes allow for more attention and focus without the anxiety you see in many schools. In this way, the child is given the space and support needed to thrive.
At this age, relationships are most important for the child – feeling that the teacher cares is integral, and creates the confidence to learn! Multi-age classes make for a rich group where the children learn from one another. We would recommend Trilok enthusiastically!

We came to Trilok in the fall of 2020, in the midst of the pandemic. The school has been a light for us in dark times, a safe, nurturing, loving space for our son to grow. He has thrived at the school in every way, becoming more confidant, curious, able, and generous. We are so grateful for Trilok’s truly wonderful teachers, its great facilities, and its ethos of exploration and care for the world. We can’t think of a better environment in which our son could have grown from a toddler into an inquisitive and social kid, and we look forward to sending our younger daughter to Trilok one day soon.

Trilok has been instrumental in my son’s development this past year. I love the fact that on day one, his teacher gave me her cell and I was able to check on him, or she would reach out with any questions throughout the day if needed. The small class sizes gave him plenty of attention and encouragement to grow, which I believe was necessary for him since he was a bit apprehensive to start. His speech and vocabulary improved greatly, not to mention he was potty trained within the first 2 weeks of attending at 2 years old. Trilok teaches kindness and empathy, which is evident, when he runs into a classmate in the neighborhood, he hugs them. Finally, I absolutely love that they have outdoor space for good weather and an indoor gym space for when it’s cold. Physical activity is so important and not many schools in New York have adequate space for children to exercise and free play.

Our son’s journey with Trilok has been incredible. We have been thrilled with his progress that we have decided to continue to stay with the Trilok family another year. Not only has his speech been an impressive improvement, but also his retention and comprehension abilities. Trilok has also brought a sense of community to our lives with their ability to form lasting connections with other parents, children, and businesses. Their support of the families in the community is profound. We look forward to continuing to give the gift of Trilok to our youngest child as well in January.

Our family loves Trilok School for countless reasons! The school’s values of peaceful social-emotional learning promote the inclusive and equitable educational environment we seek for ourchildren. The whole community within the school is very diverse, and families are encouraged to share cultural experiences. The curriculum is invigorating and taught in creative ways that truly builds the students’ intrinsic motivation for learning! Trilok School is able to meet the needs of each student by adapting to each child’s learning styles and levels~ for this we are so grateful and have seen incredible growth from our oldest, who is proud and eager to attend this school each day. We are excited for our 3 year old to begin this year.
Trilok School is a treasure in this city! The garden provides for the fresh-cooked lunches that our 7 year old loves. The students also harvest from the garden and give vegetables to folks around the neighborhood within the larger community. We believe the foundational learning that Trilok provides within the classroom as well as out in the world will help our children embody mindfulness and be better prepared for the future as global citizens. Trilok School is an amazing model for how a school can encourage a love of learning across all subjects.
