Trilok Fusion Arts Media

Trilok Students in middle school take classes in filmmaking, editing and motion graphics. This unique technological study allows them to develop their understanding of filmmaking as an art form. Students work cohesively as a team to learn what it takes for a film project to come together.

Trilok Fusion Media is a not-for-profit arts company founded by Anand Kamalakar and it has been serving the neighborhood since 1996. Located in Fort Greene, Trilok Fusion Media is a creation of Trilok Fusion Arts, Inc., a not-for-profit arts company which has been serving the neighborhood since 1996. Just two blocks from the largest film studio on the east coast, Steiner Studios, a stone's throw from a burgeoning film community in Dumbo, Trilok Fusion Media hopes to create a media center for the Fort Greene and Clinton Hill community. With a generous grant from the Brooklyn Borough President, Marty Markowitz, the center hopes to serve the emerging filmmaker, motion graphic or web designer in you.

Anand is a Brooklyn based documentary film director, producer and editor. The Gowanus Canal (Winner, Best Film, Brooklyn Film Festival), Chief Engineer Conrad, Citizen Sharma, Building Bridges, 300 Miles to Freedom, Garwin, Holy (un)Holy River, and Salam (Best Film, Raw Science Film Festival) are some of the films he has directed.

Heart of Stone, a film he produced and edited, won over ten awards including Best Film at Slamdance Film Festival, Philadelphia Film Festival, and Cinequest Film Festival. It also won an award for Best Editing at the Santa Fe Film Festival. Anand worked as an editor for Primetime (ABC), Dateline (NBC) and 20/20 (ABC) and was the editor of the 2004 Emmy nominated ABC special on the Iraq war titled Brothers in Arms. Anand was also a creative consultant on the academy award-winning documentary Born Into BrothelsHoly (un)Holy River, a film he co-directed and edited, premiered at the Telluride Mountain Film Festival and has won several awards around the world.

He is the co-founder of the Brooklyn based arts company, Trilok Fusion Arts, Inc. and Trilok Fusion Media. He has also taught as an adjunct professor at Syracuse University and School of Visual Arts, New York. He has also been a guest faculty at the Tisch Film School, New York University, and Parsons School of Design, The New School University.

Anand has masters degrees in film production, media studies and mass communications from Syracuse University, Bowling Green State University, and University of Hyderabad.

Apart from making films and listening to the Blues, Anand writes a blog on the state of the world we live in. Anand is also a professor at Brooklyn College Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema.

Edit Rooms

The media center offers three state of the art broadcast quality edit rooms. All edit rooms come equipped with the following:

  • Premiere and Adobe Creative Suite.

Graphics Room can be used as a motion graphics studio suite, classroom, and production office and is equipped with the following:

Rental includes full access to kitchen, wireless internet, and common area.

HD SCREENING ROOM

Our HD screening room has the following:
