Trilok recognizes the primacy of Spanish language in American culture. Since Spanish language is such an important tool in the cultural diaspora of New York City and beyond, Trilok has become devoted to supporting all children to develop their bilingual potential. The preschool at Trilok immerses the children in Spanish language, through learning about foods, and colors and songs, and friendships. The Spanish language is casually spoken throughout the pre-school day by many staff members. In Elementary School the Trilok children keep up ongoing Spanish studies and adding the dimensions of cooking and cultural studies of Latin America. Contextual cultural studies lead our older students to an understanding of the vast diversity within the Spanish Diaspora itself, recognizing its pathways through history and immigration. Middle school students begin travelling, both locally and globally to support the growing Spanish-speaker.
